SVETLANA CAMERON STUDIO NOW IN EAST SUSSEX
Svetlana Cameron Studio has moved to a new building set in the idyllic private garden of the artist's new home in East Sussex, England.
Easily accessible from London and Gatwick airport, the studio will become a luxurious venue for portrait sittings, workshops, and exhibition events.

EXHIBITION AT GENESIS GALLERY, ISLE OF MAN
Svetlana Cameron exhibited twelve of her recent portraits in a solo event on the Isle of Man. The 3-day display, which marked the artist's departure from the Island after 13-year residency, took place between 22 and 24 March at the Genesis Gallery in Douglas. The exhibition attracted a wide audience and was attended by Chief Minister Howard Quayle, President of Tynwald Steve Rodan, the artist's clients and friends, and members of public.
Svetlana thanked the Isle of Man people for the hospitality and support she enjoyed during the years she and her family lived on the Island.
In his interview Chief Minister Howard Quayle praised Svetlana for her contribution to the local cultural life and for raising profile of the Isle of Man internationally, and said Svetlana 'would always have a warm welcome' on the Island.

PORTRAIT OF GENERAL SIR TIMOTHY GRANVILLE-CHAPMAN, GBE, KCB UNVEILED
AT THE ROYAL ARTILLERY REGIMENT

Svetlana Cameron has unveiled the official portrait of General Sir Timothy Granville-Chapman, the 31st Master Gunner St James’s Park. The event took place at the Royal Artillery building in Larkhill, Wiltshire, and was attended by nearly 100 guests.
The Master Gunner, whose appointment is approved by the Queen, is the link to the Regiment, presiding in conjunction with other senior members of the Regiment over regimental affairs and maintaining the Captain-General’s links to Commonwealth Artilleries.
The portrait records the tenure (2008–2017) of the 31st Master Gunner St James’s Park, a line unbroken since 1678. He is portrayed in a General officer’s frock coat wearing the mantle and collar of a Knight Grand Cross of the British Empire (GBE) and the neck decoration of a Knight Commander of the Bath (KCB).
Commissioned by the Royal Artillery Institution, the portrait is placed alongside portraits of Master Gunners that have been done over the centuries. It now hangs in the Regiment’s spiritual and professional home in Larkhill, Wiltshire, UK.
EXHIBITION AND AUCTION AT THE RAINBOW BLACK TIE BALL

On 11 November Svetlana Cameron was a special guest at the Rainbow Black Tie Ball hosted by the Hospice IOM at the Villa Marina in Douglas.
An exhibition of Svetlana's original artworks was displayed at the Colonnade Suite during VIP reception. Guests included Lieutenant Governor of the Isle of Man Sir Richard Gozney, President of Tynwald Hon Steve Rodan, Chief Minister of the Isle of Man Howard Quayle.
Svetlana's auction lot - an opportunity to commission a portrait in her award-winning pastel technique - was sold in a silent auction, all proceeds from which were donated to the children's hospice Rebecca House.

PORTRAIT 'SOFIA' SUCCESSFUL IN THREE INTERNATIONAL COMPETITIONS
In January 2018 Portrait ' Sofia' stood out from 3,750 entries from 69 countries and became a Finalist in the Art Renewal Center Salon, one of the most prestigious international art competitions for realist painters held annually in the USA. The successful artwork will be published in the ARC Salon Catalogue and featured in the ARC online museum.
This is the third time 'Sofia' received international recognition in the last six months: in October 2017 it successfully competed against more than 2200 worldwide submissions and won 4th Place Award in the figurative category at the Pastel 100 competition in the USA. A month earlier, in September 2017 it became one of the winners in the major international drawing competition 'Strokes of Genius' and was chosen to be published in the 10th volume of the popular series of books 'Strokes of Genius - the Best of Drawing'.
EXHIBITION AT 'GIFT OF LIFE' CHARITY EVENING OF MUSIC AND POETRY. REFORM CLUB, LONDON

On 5 October Svetlana Cameron was a special guest at the "Pineapples in Champagne" evening of music and poetry hosted by Gift of Life charity at the prestigious private Reform Club in Pall Mall, London. The VIP guests included famous Russian stage and film actor Sergey Bezrukov, film director Anna Matison and the Ambassador of Russian Federation Dr Alexander Yakovenko. Attended by 120 guests, the evening raised over £80.000, all of which will be used to fund medication and treatments for children suffering from cancer.
Svetlana's two-part auction lot raised £22.000, of which £10.000 was paid for a portrait drawing of Natalia Osipova, Principal of Royal Ballet unveiled by Svetlana earlier that year. An additional sum of £12.000 was raised from sale of an opportunity to commission a bespoke head-and-shoulder portrait in pastels by Svetlana.

PORTRAIT OF FAMOUS BALLERINA NATALIA OSIPOVA UNVEILED IN A MAYFAIR GALLERY

Artist Svetlana Cameron unveiled two portrait drawings of the world-famous ballerina Natalia Osipova, a Principal of Royal Ballet in London.
One of the portraits will become part of Svetlana's and Natalia's joint charity lot which will be auctioned on 5 October 2017 at the Gift of Life event to raise funds for children suffering from cancer.
The unveiling event took place on 4 July 2017 at the Sophia Contemporary gallery in Mayfair, London.

A solo exhibition of classical portraits by Svetlana Cameron took place between 14 and 31 October 2016 at the Russian Culture House in Kensington, London.
Sponsored by Knox Private Office, the show featured 30 portraits borrowed from public and private collections and provided a unique opportunity to view the largest number of Svetlana's works ever gathered together in London.
The exhibition Private View was attended by many distinguished guests, including senior politicians, foreign diplomats, and representatives of the Russian and British business elite.

On 24 April 2012 Svetlana Cameron has unveiled her portrait of the former Chief Minister and Speaker of the House of Keys.
The painting of Tony Brown OBE was commissioned by the Office of the Clerk of Tynwald and will sit permanently in the Speakers' Gallery in Isle of Man Parliament.

A portrait of the retired Michael MHK David Cannan was unveiled in the House of Keys chamber on 11 October 2011.
Mr Cannan, who served as the Speaker of the House of Keys between 2000 and 2001, has become the 11th Speaker to be honoured in this way.
Speaking about the commission Svetlana said: "It was a great honour to have been invited to paint an official portrait for the Manx Parliament. The project required much research and time spent in the House of Keys chamber and I was delighted to have had this unique opportunity to learn about Tynwald, its procedures and history".
